EOCM Projects in 2010
EOCM supports projects with the goal of reaching all the people of Israel and Palestine with the gospel of Jesus Christ. To accomplish our goal we encourage the growth of the Church in a variety of ways. In the West Bank, Palestine, we are supporting the small Christian Church and community that is still remaining. In Israel, we are supporting growth of the evangelical Church for both Arab and Jewish believers. At the same time we are beginning the reconciliation process necessary to bring unity back to the body of Christ. As it says in Galatians 3:28, There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female for you are all one Christ Jesus. EOCM projects are as follows;Taybeh Christian Church Development

Taybeh Christian Church Development
Taybeh is a small village located outside of Ramallah in the West Bank of Palestine. It is the only completely Christian community left in the West Bank and is completely surrounded by Muslim villages. The Christian population in the West Bank has been decreasing steadily over the last 50 years from over 10% to now less than 1%. It is essential to keep a Christian presence and so EOCM is committed to supporting the Taybeh community. Most of the population is nominally Christian, EOCM has started an evangelical fellowship known as the Taybeh Church. EOCM believes that the only hope for the Middle East is the spread of the Gospel to all peoples. The fellowship supports the following programs.Church Building Project
The Taybeh Church is growing quickly as there is a great hunger for God among the people. The fellowship currently meets in a home, but is looking for land to build a Church for worship and a Development Center for community support. A site for the Church has been chosen, and fund raising has started for purchase of the property.
Estimates of costs:
Property $50,000
Building $270,000
No Child Left Behind Program
Modeled after the USA program it will include an after school program and a summer camp. Program objectives will be the following:
Education: special education programs to help children falling behind, computer literacy programs
Counseling: many children have been traumatized from the violent events to which they are frequently exposed and need professional help
Bible teaching: focus on Christian education as the hope of the West Bank is in developing a new generation of strong believers in Jesus.
Activities: Sports, crafts, and games.
Lunch program and after school snacks
Economic Relief Program
The economy in the West Bank has deteriorated, and many people are in need of aid. The program will provide food by contracting with local merchants and other financial support as needed.
Medical Program
The program provides free X-rays for the community. Most residents of Taybeh cannot afford the cost. The nearest X-ray facilities are in Ramallah and require a long and expensive taxi ride to avoid checkpoints. EOCM has provided financial support for the purchase of the X-ray machine and the salary for the X-ray technician.
Church Growth Programs in Israel
Cana Baptist ChurchEOCM supports the Cana Baptist Church, a rapidly growing evangelical fellowship. The Church is outgrowing its small worship chapel and is in need of a variety of construction projects to maintain its growth. Projects already completed by EOCM mission teams include renovation of sanctuary and new bathroom facilities. The Church is now proposing to level the parking lot and build a new sanctuary. EOCM is committed to support of the project.
Evangelical Church: Kafar Shafa Amor
The evangelical church in Shafa Amor is small but very much alive. As a small church it is in need of financial and pray support. EOCM supports both of these needs through support of Pastor Ashraf and other financial needs. The church needs a van for transporting people who cant drive to church.
Messianic fellowship Nazareth
EOCM supports Pastor Sergey Barcharnikov and the Spirit of Life Church in Nazareth, Israel. The congregation is made up of mostly Russian Jewish immigrants who have arrived since the fall of the Soviet Union. There are 1.5 million Russian Jews now live in Israel and they are the group most open to hearing the Gospel. New churches are starting all over Israel, and Pastor Sergey believes 10,000 have already come to the Lord with more every day. Support includes financial aid to Pastor Sergey and special Church projects.
Reconciliation Conferences
The Christian Church in Israel is separated by the barrier of ethnic identity. Our goal in supporting Arab and Jewish churches in Israel is to encourage the process of reconciliation through conferences and workshops where Jewish and Arab believers will be taught the biblical principles of unity.
Education and Teaching about Reconciliation USA
Speaking engagements and workshops on reconciliationQuarterly Newsletter
The quarterly newsletter is a great opportunity to update our supporters on current events in the Israeli and Palestinian Churches. Articles of personal testimony from believers from Jewish, Arab and Muslim backgrounds are inspirational testimony to the saving power of the Lord.
Messianic Passover Service
Passover is a special time of celebrating Gods redeeming of his people. The Messianic Seder combines Jewish tradition with all of the for-shadowing of the coming Christ. It concludes with themes from the Last Supper, foot washings, and communion. It is a very novel and exciting experience for the participants.
